Roar server for Linux (x86_64)
==============================

This is just the server, for running Roar on a machine that's always on
(a VPS, a home server). If you only want to host for friends from your own
PC, you don't need it: press Start Hosting in the app instead.

NEEDS
  A 64-bit Linux with glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12+,
Fedora 36+) and the OpenSSL 3 and SQLite libraries:
      sudo apt install libssl3 libsqlite3-0 (Debian/Ubuntu)

RUN
./roar-server --data ./data --name "My Server" --relay https://roarnode.com
--relay keeps it reachable through your Roar relay, so people join with an
invite link and nothing has to be opened in your firewall. Leave it out and
put a reverse proxy with HTTPS in front of port 8080 instead (and open UDP
50000 for voice); then people sign in with the address.
  ./roar-server --help lists every option.

The first account that joins a server you create owns it. Get an invite
link for a server you own from the app (Server menu > Invite People).

RUN AS A SERVICE
roar-server.service is a systemd unit; the comments at its top show how to
  install it.

DATA
Everything (messages, uploads, accounts) is in the --data folder, with the
relay identity in relay.json. Back that folder up.
